Worksite Health Specialist
Andy Spaulding has been a Worksite Health Specialist with the Maine CDC/DHHS Cardiovascular Health Program since 2001. Andy works with businesses, business groups, and local public health agencies in Maine to increase the number of employers with programs to improve employee health and productivity.
Andy grew up in Searsport and currently lives in Freeport with his wife and three young children. He holds a bachelors in Health and Fitness from the University of Maine and a masters in Exercise Science from the University of Massachusetts. Andy worked for Oxford Health Plans in White Plains, NY, from 1997 to 2001. His work in Oxford’s Medicare Health Promotion Program included offering programs to support regular physical activity and serving as project manager for a clinical trial on the prevention of falls among older adult members living in New York City.
For the Maine Cardiovascular Health Program, Andy developed the Good Work resource kit and the Healthy Maine Works web application, a worksite wellness planning tool for Maine employers. Andy has served on the Board since 2005.
